You’ll find exactly what you’re looking about 60 minutes past Avard!

Ghosts & Hauntings: OK, so you think you might find a better burger without the extra drive. Well we have a little something you won’t find at McDonalds or Kentucky Fried Chicken. Besides our great food, Avard has been confirmed as a legitimate site for Ghosts and Hauntings. We have so much activity in fact five (5) paranormal investigative teams have unanimously confirmed their findings with video, audio and photography. The hauntings have generated a tremendous amount of media attention. While you will find several photos on display here at the café we also do overnight ghost hunts for those who would like to do a little hands on investigation of their own!

Events: Another draw to Avard is the “Dutch Oven Cook-Off”  that Avard hosts the 1st  Sat. in Oct. Several hundred award winning cooks arrive each year to test their new recipes against the toughest competitors in three (3) states.

Overnight Accommodations: Here in Avard you will find a 6 RV sites complete with water & power hook ups just across the street from the café. Additional camping is also available at the Avard Lake, complete with BQ grills, tables and a metal shade canopy. While our lake is small it is stocked and ready for your fishing pole! When the Little Sahara State park is full our Avard facilities make for a great alternative camping area just 15 minutes from Waynoka.

Great Food: Basically, there is nothing left in Avard except for a handful of people and the old high school gymnasium and 2 grain elevators. The big draw of course is Vina Rae’s Grill & Graze which is located in the old high school gymnasium. This old establishment has been serving excellent home cooking for years where Nan Wheatley is best know for her incredible hamburgers, home cooked French fries, onion rings and pan fried chicken. If you have a huge appetite ask Nan about her home cooked “Fat Nanny”! If you find her a little busy she won’t mind if you help your self to the beverages. On a busy day it might take a smidgen longer than usual for your food but its well worth the wait. You can call in your order if you’re close by and on your way for a visit.
Inside The Avard High School Gymnasium to the left is where you will find Vina Rae’s Grill & Graze. Simply walk through the doors and down the hall. You will find the entrance on the left. Don't forget to stop into Vina Rae's Collectables Shop and gander at all the nick knacks.
