"Supporting a Safe Trail Riding Environment for Both Waynoka, OK Residents and Visiting OHV Recreationists"
"The Effort that Goes into the Patrol"
The volunteers that make up this highly successful trail patrol are well trained individuals. They have spent extensive class time with the United 4 Wheel Drive Association (UFWDA)(Creators of the nationally recognized OHV Trail Patrol), the Colorado Off-Highway Vehicle Coalition (COHVCO) and local law enforcement.
Through this proccess they have become excellent communicators and educators of the trail assisting visitors to find their way around town and pay attention to the rules of the trail. Speed limits, day and night time use and rider etiquette are just some of the basics supported by the patrol.
"Local Law Enforcement"
The patrol is positioned at key locations along the trail. You will also see them patroling the trail within the city limits. On rare occasions, in the event there is an ATV rider or pedestrain at risk due to illegal activity the trail patrol will call upon local law enforcement for assistance. Within one to two minutes a police car can be onsite to evaluate the disturbance.
"Making All the Difference"
The Waynoka, Oklahoma volunteer "Trail Patrol" is dedicated to educating OHV visitors in the proper way to enjoy the town's unique ATV trail. The trail was designed and built to provide safe access back and forth to both the Little Sahara State Sand Dune Park and the town of Waynoka.
