El Charro Restaurant
262 Cleveland Street, Waynoka, OK

Carry-Out  Available
Located inside the Historic Harvey House along the town's legendary railways you'll find El Charro.
The Mexican cuisine found behind these doors is considered some of the best you'll find for over 100 miles. Travelers come for miles to enjoy both the flavors of Mexico and the museum setting that surrounds the restaurant. This beautiful red brick structure marks the end of the railroad romance that swept the country in the early 1900's. In the upstairs museum above the restaurant, visitors will find many of the heirlooms from the Harvey House and its historical vistors such as Amelia Ehrheart.
The modern day setting in the two dining areas are the result  of a major restoration effort. Each reflect the old fashioned elegance that the Harvey House was so well known for.

Shown below, the staff from this yesteryear establishment surround the old diner-style counter currently being stored
for restoration.

If you look along both photos to the right and below where the walls meet the cieling, the decorative trim has been reproduced for today's patrons to admire.
This old photo depicts the level of service you recieved back in the day. We felt the same level of service when visiting El Charro. The owner, Carlos comes from a family of restaurant owners who have made a name for themselves in other areas. Carlos is no exception. The menu was designed to meet the needs of the hungry traveler and the local community.

Located near the back of the dining room is this display case containing many of the artifacts used by Mr. Harvey himself , aircraft photos from the nearby historic landing field and the china used during the building's heyday.
